Custom cores are turned tight tolerances at our state of the art machine shop that specializes in reproducing existing pulleys as well as custom polyurethane pulleys to match the surface profile of the material it will be processing. Plan Tech mixes all of our polyurethane in-house to tailor any custom application or hardness. Anti-static additives are most popular in our custom pulleys as most OEM options do not offer such additives. Plan Tech also has the ability to modify the physical properties of our urethane to add lubricity to the urethane material as it wears. Existing hubs or cores that are worn out may be stripped and repurposed for custom polyurethane pulleys with steel hub. Custom keyways or set screws may be added for bolt-on applications.
Plan Tech also specializes in custom grinding urethane pulleys of any hardness with tolerances as tight as +/-.005. Being able to custom grind polyurethane pulleys ensures the pulley will be concentric as the grinding process is done on a custom build lathe specialized in grinding urethane to custom profiles. Polyurethane pulleys with steel hub can also be molded in high volume with production tooling that can be also be made in-house.
Our engineering department can turn your idea, sketch, drawing or CAD file into custom urethane parts. We will reverse engineer to recreate any urethane part for production or one-off urethane pieces. The engineering department utilizes SolidWorks and our machine shop uses CamWorks for 3 axis milling. Our equipment includes CNC mills, lathes, polyurethane grinders as well as a state of the art urethane waterjet cutting machine.
